Shaddingfield or Scadenefella
The lordship of this parish was anciently in Hugh de Berry, and subsequently the
family of Cuddon became seated here; which they acquired by marriage with the
heiress of Francis, of Shaddingfield. They afterwards married with the houses of
Duke, Berney, and Bainard; and were a family of great distinction. Ebenezer, the
son of Sir Thomas Cuddon, Knt., Chamberlain of London, sold the Hall and estate
to Round, Esq., of Essex. Topographical and Genealogical, The County of Suffolk, 1844, Augustine Page |
