The author of "Magna Britannia" makes the demesne of this parish to have been in
Robert de Biskele (or Bixley). In 1249, Sir Hugh de Jernegan held of Roger, son
of Peter Fitz Osbert, divers lands in Stovene and Bugges, for which he did
homage to Roger, son of the said Peter, in the presence of Walter de Redisham,
